Keynote details

The conference is positioned as a recurring international forum where researchers, developers, practitioners, and students from academia and industry gather to share findings and discuss emerging directions in information technology. Its scope spans both core computing disciplines and newer application areas, encouraging dialogue between regional institutions and global participants. The event aims to recognise student contributions alongside established research, creating a layered programme that values both foundational scholarship and innovative industrial practice. By convening in a different host city each year, the conference maintains its character as a mobile meeting point for the wider IT community, balancing continuity in its technical traditions with fresh local context and collaboration opportunities that reflect the host region's academic strengths and industry landscape over time.

Over successive editions the event has built a reputation as a premier venue for presenting peer-reviewed papers across a broad spectrum of information technology topics. The technical programme typically organises submissions into specialised tracks, allowing authors to place their work within clearly defined communities such as data sciences, networking and security, parallel and distributed cloud computing, multimedia and signal processing, and embedded systems. This structure helps reviewers and attendees navigate the schedule while giving each subfield a dedicated space for discussion. By maintaining consistent quality standards and welcoming contributions from both early-career and senior researchers, the conference continues to serve as a reliable calendar fixture for those tracking advances in applied and theoretical computing research.

The organising effort behind the conference involves collaboration between multiple academic institutions, professional societies, and sponsoring bodies, often including regional chapters of larger international associations. Steering and organising committees are usually composed of faculty members and industry professionals who coordinate the review process, manage the technical programme, and oversee logistics such as venue arrangement, registration, and proceedings publication. Local arrangements teams handle on-the-ground details ranging from hospitality to audio-visual support, ensuring that the event runs smoothly for international visitors. The published proceedings are widely indexed, giving authors a recognised venue for disseminating their work. Together these committees form a working structure that sustains the conference year after year while preserving its reputation for academic rigour.

A defining feature of the programme is its emphasis on keynote addresses and invited industrial talks that complement the regular paper sessions. Distinguished speakers from research laboratories, universities, and industry are invited to share perspectives on long-term trends, emerging technologies, and practical challenges in deployment. These talks are often scheduled to draw the entire delegate audience together, encouraging cross-track conversation and giving attendees exposure to ideas that lie outside their immediate specialisation. Tutorial sessions further extend the educational offer, allowing participants to deepen specific skills or explore new methodologies under the guidance of experienced instructors. Together, these complementary formats enrich the conference experience beyond the standard paper presentations and poster sessions.

The conference is also known for special sessions and workshops that focus on timely or niche topics within the broader information technology landscape. Organisers solicit proposals for these sessions from research groups who wish to bring together a focused community around a particular theme, tool, or emerging standard. This flexible structure allows the programme to respond quickly to new developments, integrating them alongside the more established tracks. Participants benefit from the depth of discussion that smaller, themed gatherings encourage, while the main conference retains its wider survey function. Over time, recurring special sessions have helped certain sub-communities form lasting connections that extend well beyond the three days of the event itself.

Preparation for authors follows a familiar rhythm in the academic calendar, with calls for papers released well in advance and clear deadlines for submission, notification, and camera-ready preparation. Templates and formatting guidelines are provided to ensure consistency across the proceedings, and accepted authors are expected to register and present their work in person. The review process is double-blind in principle, with papers evaluated by members of the technical programme committee against criteria such as originality, technical soundness, and clarity of presentation. Accepted contributions are allocated to oral or poster sessions based on reviewer recommendations and thematic fit, allowing the final programme to balance diverse content areas while maintaining a coherent schedule across parallel rooms.

Beyond its technical content, the conference recognises that scholarly exchange thrives in an environment that is welcoming and well organised. Registration procedures are designed to accommodate both individual participants and group attendees, with options for students, IEEE or society members, and industry delegates. On-site arrangements typically include badge collection, conference kits, refreshment breaks, and social events that encourage informal networking. Many editions incorporate award ceremonies for best paper and student contributions, acknowledging the effort invested by young researchers. Attention to these details reflects a broader understanding that a successful conference depends not only on the strength of its programme but also on the overall experience of travelling, arriving, and settling into a productive few days of professional interaction.

Each host city contributes its own character to the event, and past editions have been held in locations that reflect the regional spread of the organising community. Bhubaneswar, for instance, has served as a venue that combines academic infrastructure with cultural heritage, giving visitors an opportunity to engage with local traditions alongside the formal programme. Conference organisers frequently coordinate with local tourism and hospitality partners to provide travel guidance, recommended accommodation, and information about nearby attractions for accompanying family members. These softer elements of the event help participants balance intensive technical sessions with moments of rest and cultural exchange, reinforcing the sense that attending the conference is also a chance to explore new places and build friendships that support future research collaboration.

Looking ahead, the conference continues to adapt its format and reach in response to changes in how scholarly communication takes place. Online registration systems, electronic proceedings, and digital updates through mailing lists and social channels have become standard, supplementing the traditional printed programme. Sponsorship from technical societies and industry partners remains vital to sustaining affordable registration fees and supporting student travel grants, ensuring that the event remains accessible to a broad international audience. As information technology evolves, the conference aims to keep its tracks aligned with current priorities while preserving the collegial atmosphere that has characterised previous editions, offering a stable platform where new research ideas can be tested, refined, and shared with the wider community.
